hmm... lots and lots of thing to write but felt tired and lazy. Just got back from Majlis Hari Raya - anjuran Malaysian families. Fun, full and happy are the best word to describe tonite. I cried a little bit, when the twin cried because they wanted the lego instead of the toy car I bought them. What made me cries? Sebab ada org tanye, kenapa tak beli hadiah yg sama utk semua? and I was like, what the heck? suke ati analah nak beli hadiah apa pun utk depa semua. I am not perfect, never be... but at least I'm doing sth good for myself and for those kids.
the fun started since morning; I helped Kak Pisah and Kak Tini cook the Lodeh and also lunch which are nasi puteh, sayur goreng, telur goreng and satay goreng! huhuhu best kan? Then, helped them prepared the chicken and cleaned the kitchen. Alhamdulillah... we went back home at about 4 pm. I got some sleep (1/2 hour), iroend my baju kurung and then went back there with juices and desserts...
after all the eating and chit chatting part, I helped them do the clean up. Put everything inside the trash bin, put the already washed dishes in order, packed up the leftover and etc. My leg went crammed! sakit tau... pakcik pun buat hal, geram betul! yep, everybody have their own life!
I tried very hard to think positive. But I don't think the manners that the girls showed tonite can be tolerable by anybody... 'Allahualam... am I being conservative? am I that stupid? am I that stupid to differentiate between adab and having fun? ya Allah, tunjukilah hambaMu ini jalan yang benar, jalan yang Kau redhai ya Allah... amin

tamat sudah cerita untuk semester ini... alhamdulillah.... sekarang nak tumpu untuk hal muktamar and myself. Missing classes! heh... how's Lorie doing didn't contact her since our last class that day... hope she didn't have any difficulties with the take home exam. How's Reem? Did she finished her 30 pages paper? Missed everybody now... Hope everybody is doing fine insyaAllah...
So, what did I do today? what did I do this semester? Did I pleased Allah? Did you? Did everybody?

Allah is unique in terms of true Being. No other being can be said to exist `of itself'. In fact, "Everything perishes except His Presence (Face)" (28:88). It is probable that the name Allâh occurs to indicate the Absolute in the same way that proper nouns denote particular things. Everything that can be said, however, in respect of the origin of the word is from the human point of view, that is, relative and arbitrary.
As Allah breathed His Spirit on the human form it can aspire to actualize Allah's Qualities but the possibility of this occurring is limited and relative to our own natural disposition--which Allah gave us--and the extent of our directing our motivations and perceptions towards this goal. However, gaining knowledge of Allah's Most Beautiful Names and assuming them as noble or praiseworthy character traits whatever possible makes us in no way comparable to Allah's likeness. The Qur'an clearly states, "Naught is as His likeness" (16:74) nor should one consider that sharing in every quality means a likeness. Likeness is defined as sharing in a specific thing and in essence. A horse and a human being may both be swift but their likeness ends here.
The meaning of the name Allâh is so specific that it is inconceivable that there could be any sharing of the Name whether it be metaphorically or literally. In view of this, the rest of the Names are described as being the Names of Allâh and are defined in relation to Allâh. One may say that the Patient, the Compeller, and the Sovereign are among the Names of Allâh but one cannot say that Allâh is one of the Names of the Patient, the Compeller, the Sovereign. This is because the Name Allâh, is more indicative of the true nature of the meaning of divinity and is, therefore, more specific. As a result, one dispenses with trying to define it by something else whereas the other Names are defined in relationship to the Name Allâh. As the Qur'an says, "Do you know of any other that can be named with His Name?" (19:65)

Answer:
As-salaam wa alayakum wa Rahmatullahi wa barakatuh brother.
Thank-you for your question for it is a problem that many struggle with everyday. What the Qur’an actually tells us is:
“Let not the believers take the unbelievers for friends rather than believers; and whoever does this, he shall have nothing of (the guardianship of) Allah, but you should guard yourselves gainst them, guarding carefully; and Allah makes you cautious of (retribution from) Himself; and to Allah is the eventual coming” (A’lay Imran 3: 28).
So it is a question of preference of non-believers over believers. This can be further supported by the fact that Islam allows Muslim men to marry the ‘People of the Book’ i.e. believing Christians and Jews.
Islam is not just for Muslims but it is for everyone and it is best represented when we treat others as we would be treated hence the importance of human rights in Islam. We are to guard ourselves against those that would have us behave below the standard of ethics that we set for ourselves.
In our daily transactions Sufi Kabir Helminski describes this through how we behave to one another. He said: “Adab is not formality; it helps to create the context in which we develop our humanness. Every situation and relationship has its proper adab: between students on the path, in relation to family members and elders, in relation to one's sheikh. Every level of being also has its adab, including coming into the presence of Truth… We learn to observe, to control our impulses when that is called for, and to lose our "selves" when that is called for. We learn to behave as if everyone else is of a higher station than ourselves. Our conversation is centered on God and coming into harmony with God and each other. Gossip and backbiting is one of the worst actions any seeker can indulge in -- not only the speaking of it, but the listening to it, as well. Backbiting is defined as saying anything behind a person's back that would displease them (whether it is true or not). Since we are attempting to bring ourselves into alignment with Reality, we will face many tests and it is inevitable that there will be some interpersonal tensions from time to time”.
If we are firm believers in human rights and acknowledge Islam to be as a mercy to the world, then we must also translate this towards the non-Muslims who we come into contact with daily. As you have described there are aspects that we face challenging our nafs – personality or ego, but this is just a part of the many tests we face in life. The Qur’an states:
“Allah only forbids you respecting those who made war upon you on account of (your) religion, and drove you forth from your homes and backed-up (others) in your expulsion, that you make friends with them, and whoever makes friends with them, these are the unjust” (Muntahanah 60: 8).
So this makes it pretty clear as to what is in our best interest and that is only to avoid that which oppress us and deprive us of our rights. As regards to women inappropriately dressed, in general it is known what Muslims consider to be appropriate forms of dress except as a male you have no distinguishing features that can determine your religion. So it becomes incumbent upon your will to determine how best to deal with such situations – the most difficult being in a place of work or study. In your dealings, you can make it apparent without words and without being rude that it is not to your liking. Subconsciously the person concerned might eventually realize that it is not in her best interest also – Jazak Allah Khayr.

What is Luke Helder's philosophical excursions ? a 21 years old boy confessed to a pipe-bombers siries cross-country, injuring people and bringing thoughts of intruders action, the act of terroristsm. how important a Guider is, how important to live with guidance... guidance? Quran and sunnah... from a tiny litlle thing to the biggest concern ever occur, we can refer to this holy book and the sunnah.
what is happening to the world now? what are these people thinking? well, why should I bother about other people? what about me? what did I do to contribute to the world? to my religion? to myself? knowing how little I had contributed make me feel ashamed of myself. I tried to encourage others to do so but, what about myself? did I straighten my path before I help other people? Did I help my family first?

Hakim titled, "Read Me, My Teacher" ... few days earlier Amir was tralling me what a waste of time for us to go to class if the lecture was bored and u can still get the notes from the internet. I don't know how to explain to him in general, as I believe receiving knowledge from a teacher is better than learning by oneself. And so, I just smiled.. but today, I printed the article and tomorrow I'll give it to him and have him read it so that he understand why... hopefully...

Today is the last day of my Islam, Religon and Culture class. He said that this class was fun, with lots of questions and students attendance are improving. However he hope more students enganged in Q and A session. Thank you prof. Mamoon!

Hakim titled, "Read Me, My Teacher" ... few days earlier Amir was tralling me what a waste of time for us to go to class if the lecture was bored and u can still get the notes from the internet. I don't know how to explain to him in general, as I believe receiving knowledge from a teacher is better than learning by oneself. And so, I just smiled.. but today, I printed the article and tomorrow I'll give it to him and have him read it so that he understand why... hopefully...

Tingkatan Cinta
(1) Cinta tertinggi - terhadap Allah swt, RasulNya, Jihad fisabilillah dan kemenangan Islam.
Rasa cinta ini merupakan asas pada cinta-cinta yang lain.Ia merupakan bukti keimanan kita pada Allah swt.Cinta ini boleh mendorong seseorang hidup dalam manhaj rabbani, iaitu merealisasikan Islam di dalam kehidupannya dan seterusnya memberi kekuatan untuk terus memperjuangkan Din yang suci ini.
Cara-caranya -
1. Putuskan ikatan keduniaan dari hidup kita.Ambillah dunia sekadar perlu sahaja. Jadikan ia sebagai landasan utk mencapai kebahagiaan di akhirat. --> sound familiar? Sufism practices kan? Love for Allah exceeding Love for anything else in this world

5. Sentiasa mengamalkan zikrullah

7. Kasih sesama Mukmin, keras terhadap kuffar.
8. Sentiasa takut pada Allah.

in astronomy class today, we had lecture on the Big Bang theories. Prof. Marche showed us a slide on a picture where the astronomers describe how the universe is created. From one source, it just bang out and grew rapidly and first made the atom, and then the growing rate slow down, and after about 300,000 years later, the galacies started to occur. What interest me was that, in the slide, where he drew the source adn everything it was bounded, and thus what is it on the outer boundary? was it another Big Bang? or nothing? or...
people just think that everything that happen need to have a scientific explanation behind it. They do not want (not all) want to take it as God's power. Well, I think both are parallel, except nothing could exceed God's power. Don't people think God is bright enough to know all this, before he created it? and we, as the tiny little creature, trying to discover His intelligent and yet never agree it was because of His power that we had all that have now? What were we thinking?
In Islam class, Prof. Mamoon was discussing on Syiah's festivals, the moruning of Hussain where the Syiats march from one place to the other and injuring themselves (hit thier shoulder, hit their back with chains and etc.). questions arose;
Did the Sunni celebrate it too?
Yes, but they see it differently, and the way they celebrate it is different too. The Sunni rather gathered and go through the story, how it happened, and reflct it on themselves.
The Asyura Day, the tenth day of any month, in particular for the syiah's the tenth day of Muharram.
Yazid -- in Iran, people are so annoyed by the name Yazid, I forgot why, but I guess it relates to Hussain's story, they even said "

in class today,
nothing much happened. Lori and I are both sick... we just hope both of us will get better soon. Amir sat next to us today, and he told me how he annoyed by our astron' professor jokes. I just smiled... and then, I asked him " what is ur religion?" He said, "I'll answered it after class."
Prof Mamoon didn't continue with new topics today, instead he just elaborated what he already spoken last week and also answered questions.
He talk about Muslims fantasy on Paradise... the 70 virgin and stuff... actually all of this , no not all, some of it are just a fantasy made up to give picture to individual what it looks like, the afterdeath life. For example, if you were to explain to desert people what snow is, you wouldn't know how they will intreprate it in their mind. This is just the same occasion.
He also talk about Muslims festivals, and he refered to my Eid's open house as an example. "I thought you might bring something for me today!" insyaAllah tomorrow prof.

With regard to self-actualization and standing out from others, this raises the question: Did God create one perfect human model, which should be rigidly imitated by everyone, with differences amounting to defects? Or did God create differences so humans could develop and actualize their very different natures while learning from each others' radical differences?

assalamualeikum wbt
alhamdulillah tamatlah sudah aktiviti sambutan aidilfitri di kawasan Madison (I hope)... Never felt this exthausted before, got no sleep since Thursday till Friday night. It was fun though, me and friend cook rendang, nasi impit (traditionally made), nasi minyak, ayam masak merah, satay ayam dan daging (few incidents happened while baking this...) and kuah kacang. While preparing all this, I also made solok lada (againnnn!) and eat together. Ijan had to finish her paper on the Eid, so she couldn't help much... poor her!
people started coming as early as 10:00 am, right after the Eid prayer, and after that our apartment was crowded with friends. People stop coming after 9:00 pm, and our last guest was Kak Sah and her family. We cleaned up the kicthen, washed all dishes, and gathered all the left overs, fuhhhhhhh it was tiring. At about 10:00 pm, few friends (juniors who live in dorms) came over to help us made the satay again for today's event! 3 of the, Deya, Effa and Shima. I gave them all the ingredient to be mixed up with the chicken and beef, and the I went to sleep. Buttttt they forgot to put few things and so the satay just become regular 'daging bakar'! I woke at 3 am to find my house smelling wierd.
Today we went to Kak Intan house at Middleton (close to Angie's house)! Met her sons, Andy and Adam. eat and eat and eat and took pictures and then went back home. Took a nap and then start writing here.
What I get from all above?
Everything is cultural, so if anybody never did showed up, it is not a sin, and they're not to be blamed of. Eat to live, not live to eat. I guess it must be hard for few friends who had just lost their beloved mother. Moga roh mereka dicucuri rahmat dan ditempatkan dikalangan orang yang diredhai-Nya ameen...
finally my Eid cards from family and friends arrive. I got one from my family, from 'adik Aseks', Sarah (suprisingly)... thanks to everybody who send me the card.
Kalau ada sesiapa ada tips on how to manage your little sister, please share with me. I mean a stubborn, problematic sister. Thanks.

in class today,
Lorie told me about her thanksgiving at her parent's house. Her dad lectured John about getting a job. As he have a green card, he should get some work so that Lorie don't have to work 40 hours per week. She also need to go to class. John only play drum... John are looking for job rite now! but Lorie said, " whatever is his decision, I'll support him, he's my husband!" nice Lorie... then Abbi came and joined us.. she also had class at 1 pm. She asked me about Ramadan... Abbi is from Cenegal too... then Amir came and said hi... then he left!
about 10 minutes before class started, we find our seat. To my suprise, Amir pick a place next to us... with a smile on his face, he ask about the eid, when will it be? maybe Thursday or Friday! Lorie teased me ... hmm... naughty Lorie...
Today prof Mamoon talked about Saint Worship and Muharram but he only finished the first one and will continue the second one tomorrow insyaAllah... oh oh and got my video critic essay back! good job khairulbariah, Amir got 20/20! Way to go! Amir!!!
Why such action occur if people believe in oneness and uniqueness of God? Why? Muslims believe that everything have been laid out to them till the end...
Actually, what is required for them by God?
to be a good Muslim? How do you define good? God gives us knowledge, capability to literally understand and learn the Quran, and therefore ignorance of law is no execuse kan?

bersiap-siap nak pergi melawat sahabat ana, durra yang akan bertolak pulang ke tanah air esok petang... ana doakan lancar perjalanannya insyaAllah...
bercakap ttg pemakain purdah, ana teringat bapa saudara ana sewaktu ana berusia lebey kurang 10 tahun mcm tu... ana balik kampung... biase lah org terengganu, dlm satu kawasan tu penuh satu family tinggal, termasuk family besar ana.... kebetulan my maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents are siblings and live close to each other... kire macam umah atok belakang, umah tok mek selang 2 rumah camtu.. yg 2 rumah tu tok saudara and mak saudara... kalau balik kg, selalunya kami tido di rumah atok (belah mak) sebab umah tok mek (belah ayah) penuh dgn cucu-cucunya yang lain... semuanya menetap dalam satu rumah...tak la semuanya...
2 - 3 hari lepas sampai kampung, ana nak melawat tok mek, ana pun pegi lah kerumahnya, kene naik tangga, depan rumah tok mek ialah rumah bapa saudara ana, yang ana panggil ayah we (org lain panggil die Hj We.. belum gi haji lg tp..) ana naik 2 - 3 tangga, nama ana dipanggil... ayah we panggil... ana pergi la... die kate,
"siape die ajar mu pakai seluar ni... orang perempuan tak pakai seluar... org laki je pakai seluar... gi balik tuka.. tudung pun tak pakai... gi balik pakai tudung!"
ana pun baliklah umah atok dan mak pun tanye and ana pun ceritakanlah... lepas tu ana tak pasti apa yg jadi... tp terngiang-ngiang kata-kata ni, "tutup habis pun, hati dok molek sama gok... " ana tak ingat sape yg ckp tapi ana ingat ada org sebut ttg ni....
adik beradik abah yang perempuan dan kakak and adik ipar abah yg perempuan semuanya pakai purdah... tp logik la depa pakai.. mmg lawa-lawa semuanya... tok mek cakap, "mana la budak-budak ni dapat lawa-lawa macam tu.." hehehe... mak ngan abah sepupu, maka tidaklah menjadi isu... tp masa kat sekolah dulu, kawan-kawan selalu ckp, in fact cikgu2 pun ckp jugak, kalau kawin sepupu ni anak-anak byk masalah, lembap belaja, banyak penyakit... 'Allahualam...
td berenti sat.. pi umah durra, melawat die nak balik dah esok! byk jugak brg2 nye... harap semuanya ok2 saje ... ramai jugak yg ada td, budak2 blair, ilham and lan, even chinese friends pun datang.. nice of them...
surah An - Nisaa : 124 :: contoh 'adil' dalam Islam. rewards are given to both men and women who did good deed, and who are soleh and solehah... dan mereka tidak dianiaya walau sedikitpun...

I've done enough... I had put myself in positions, situations that no one could ever imagine they'll be! kalau ingat dr dulu... astaghfirullah "ampunkanlah dosa-dosaku ya Allah..."
when I knew my mom was pregnant with my youngest brother, I rebelled... Never called home till I received a letter from my mom... "Yo tak larat dah ade adik mak... cukup la 3 org tu..." I said.
Month or two later, I received another letter from home... The first thing that I saw when I opened the letter was a picture of a baby... masyaAllah... I turned away from hatred... I love the baby so much that I couldn't wait to go home to see the baby. I called my mom... "mak, comelnye, macam anak cina" I said. I knew she cried, I just knew it...
there he is now... muhammad khairul kamal bin khairuddin.
"kaklong bile nak balik? kaklong beli dah keretapi adik?"
"kaklong, td mekmah pukul adik kaklong... balik aaa kaklong"
ada satu masa, tgh sakan gaduh dgn adik yg kedua, Mariam Akmal, mamat datang menangis... tak kami hiraukan.. tp tangis die makin kuat... ana toleh, ya Allah... ditangan mamat ada penyangkut baju, cangkuknya dalam mulut mamat. Mamat nak tarik keluar cangkuk tuh, padahal cangkuk tu tersangkut kat pipi (bhgn dalam) die.. mesti sakit, sebab penyangkut baju tuh jenis besi... terus berhenti gaduh, tolong mamat keluarkan cangkuk tuh dari mulut die.. and bese la, berdarah la die... puas pujuk takmo berenti nangis jugak si mamat ni.. mak pun naik dah dr jaga kedai kat bawah blok, mak tanye kenapa... kami berdua yang kene marah... mak nangis... "suruh jaga adik pun susah... bukannye suruh jaga kedai" ampun mak... ampun... kesannye pada mamat, sampai sekarang die ade lesung pipit buatan di pipi kiri and lesung pipit neutral di pipi kanan.
kesian mak... bangun pukul 4/5 siap2, kemas2 sikit, pastu kejut abah, sama-sama pergi pasar borong. Pukul 7 balik terus bukak kedai. Mak mesti beli samada nasi lemak atau nasi minyak untuk kitorang, tambah dgn seplastik teh ais untuk mak sepanjang jaga kedai. Pukul 1 ptg lebey kurang mak naik, panjat tangga 4 tingkat... sampai jer terus mak masak utk makan tengah hari... jd kebiasaan kitorang lunch pukul 4 ptg... kalau mak penat, mak mintak abah keluar beli nasi ayam kat atas bukit (takde la bukit sangat) ... kalau abah baik, abah beli nasi briani kat pasar kat bandar. Lepas tu petang-petang mak tanya,
"yo.. bukak kedai petang ni. Mak bagi 2 ringgit nak?"
jawapan yg selalu ana beri,"takmboh la mak... suruh mekmah tu" astaghfirullah...
mak pun turun la jaga kedai semula petang sampai pukul 7 malam lebey kurang. Abah kerja ikut shif, 3 hari kire satu cycle la... 1st day, petang: 2 ptg - 10 mlm, 2nd day, pagi: 7 pg - 2 ptg, 3rd day, malam: 10 mlm - 7 pg. Kadang-kadang abah tolong mak jaga kedai, kadang-kadang ana dan adik2 tolong mak, tapi selalunya mak jaga kedai sorang-sorang jer. Lepas pukul 7 mak naik atas, mak rehat sekejap, terus mak buat kire-kire untuk hari tu, lepas tu terus tulis senarai brg2 basah nak dibeli di pasar borong esoknye. Lepas tu mak tido. Mesti mak penat kan?
Dalam banyak-banyak hal berkaitan dgn kami, mak yg selalu bersuara, abah diam saja... Tapi mak selalu kata, "jangan sampai abah mu semua bukak mulut... sakit nanti"
Sebab itu kami takut dengan abah...
Lepas masuk MRSM PDRM, ana dah jarang kena marah... mak sentiasa dengar luahan ana... pada maklah ana mengadu apa-apa... terutama bila orang asyik ejek ana 'beruang'
mak kata "saba la Yo, nak buat macam mana... die rase die besar, lawa, pandai... biarlah. Toksah terasa sangat... belaja betul2"
ikut kata mak...
Selalu bila tengok dalam tv atau dengar cerita rakan-rakan, ana terfikir apakah rahsia menghasilkan anak yang berjaya, yg solehah, yg soleh? adakah dengan kemanjaan, dengan kasih sayang?
Mungkin betul... tp bentuk kasih sayang berbeza mengikut individu mungkin... dulu ana selalu persoalkan, kenapa mak tak pernah tanya pasal pelajaran ana, kenapa mak tak pernah puas hati dengan pencapaian ana, kenapa itu, kenapa ini, kenapa, kenapa dan kenapa?
Lama kelamaan ana jawab sendiri soalan-soalan tu... Sebab mak mcm tu dulu ana berada di mana ana berada sekarang. Itu cara mak! Mak tak pernah buat keputusan untuk ana! ana yang pilih untuk berada di mana ana berada sekarang... kasih sayang mak (dalam bentuk yang tak dapat ditafsirkan) buat ana tabah... buat ana jd kuat... buat ana selalu ingat Allah... sayang mak
orang selalu kata anak polis jahat! ada juge anak polis yang berjaya insyaAllah... akan ada insyaAllah...

Mamat nak tarik keluar cangkuk tuh, padahal cangkuk tu tersangkut kat pipi (bhgn dalam) die.. mesti sakit, sebab penyangkut baju tuh jenis besi... terus berhenti gaduh, tolong mamat keluarkan cangkuk tuh dari mulut die.. and bese la, berdarah la die... puas pujuk takmo berenti nangis jugak si mamat ni.. mak pun naik dah dr jaga kedai kat bawah blok, mak tanye kenapa... kami berdua yang kene marah... mak nangis... "suruh jaga adik pun susah... bukannye suruh jaga kedai" ampun mak... ampun... kesannye pada mamat, sampai sekarang die ade lesung pipit buatan di pipi kiri and lesung pipit neutral di pipi kanan.
kesian mak... bangun pukul 4/5 siap2, kemas2 sikit, pastu kejut abah, sama-sama pergi pasar borong. Pukul 7 balik terus bukak kedai. Mak mesti beli samada nasi lemak atau nasi minyak untuk kitorang, tambah dgn seplastik teh ais untuk mak sepanjang jaga kedai. Pukul 1 ptg lebey kurang mak naik, panjat tangga 4 tingkat... sampai jer terus mak masak utk makan tengah hari... jd kebiasaan kitorang lunch pukul 4 ptg... kalau mak penat, mak mintak abah keluar beli nasi ayam kat atas bukit (takde la bukit sangat) ... kalau abah baik, abah beli nasi briani kat pasar kat bandar. Lepas tu petang-petang mak tanya,
"yo.. bukak kedai petang ni. Mak bagi 2 ringgit nak?"
jawapan yg selalu ana beri,"takmboh la mak... suruh mekmah tu" astaghfirullah...
mak pun turun la jaga kedai semula petang sampai pukul 7 malam lebey kurang. Abah kerja ikut shif, 3 hari kire satu cycle la... 1st day, petang: 2 ptg - 10 mlm, 2nd day, pagi: 7 pg - 2 ptg, 3rd day, malam: 10 mlm - 7 pg. Kadang-kadang abah tolong mak jaga kedai, kadang-kadang ana dan adik2 tolong mak, tapi selalunya mak jaga kedai sorang-sorang jer. Lepas pukul 7 mak naik atas, mak rehat sekejap, terus mak buat kire-kire untuk hari tu, lepas tu terus tulis senarai brg2 basah nak dibeli di pasar borong esoknye. Lepas tu mak tido. Mesti mak penat kan?
Dalam banyak-banyak hal berkaitan dgn kami, mak yg selalu bersuara, abah diam saja... Tapi mak selalu kata, "jangan sampai abah mu semua bukak mulut... sakit nanti"
Sebab itu kami takut dengan abah...
Lepas masuk MRSM PDRM, ana dah jarang kena marah... mak sentiasa dengar luahan ana... pada maklah ana mengadu apa-apa... terutama bila orang asyik ejek ana 'beruang'
mak kata "saba la Yo, nak buat macam mana... die rase die besar, lawa, pandai... biarlah. Toksah terasa sangat... belaja betul2"
ikut kata mak...
Selalu bila tengok dalam tv atau dengar cerita rakan-rakan, ana terfikir apakah rahsia menghasilkan anak yang berjaya, yg solehah, yg soleh? adakah dengan kemanjaan, dengan kasih sayang?
Mungkin betul... tp bentuk kasih sayang berbeza mengikut individu mungkin... dulu ana selalu persoalkan, kenapa mak tak pernah tanya pasal pelajaran ana, kenapa mak tak pernah puas hati dengan pencapaian ana, kenapa itu, kenapa ini, kenapa, kenapa dan kenapa?
Lama kelamaan ana jawab sendiri soalan-soalan tu... Sebab mak mcm tu dulu ana berada di mana ana berada sekarang. Itu cara mak! Mak tak pernah buat keputusan untuk ana! ana yang pilih untuk berada di mana ana berada sekarang... kasih sayang mak (dalam bentuk yang tak dapat ditafsirkan) buat ana tabah... buat ana jd kuat... buat ana selalu ingat Allah... sayang mak

HOW I SURVIVED ON MY OWN
Let me start by giving brief information on the city of Gainesville. Alhamdulillah, there are two masajids in our community, namely the Islamic Center of Gainesville (ICG – http://islamiccg.members.atlantic.net) and the Hoda Center Mosque (http://www.hodacenter.com). These two masajids integrate and work hand in hand when it comes to issues pertaining to the community, like moon sighting for Ramadan, preparation of the two ‘Eids, and Islamic schools. Aside from the community, we have two Muslim organizations on campus. At the University of Florida, we have Islam On Campus (IOC – http://www.islamoncampus.com) and Muslim Students Association (MSA – http://grove.ufl.edu/~msa). During my college career, I had served as the secretary of IOC and treasurer of MSA on different terms. I had always helped both organizations the best I can whenever they needed assistance in organizing activities both on and off campus. I should mention that the first four years of college, I had stayed at the ICG. During those years, I had the opportunity to live with Muslims of different background, such as Afghans, Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, Turks, and Americans. Having the love for ‘ilm, I had always attended any majlis ‘ilm organized, whether on campus or in the community. Both masajids conduct activities regularly through out the week, which are:
ICG – halaqahs, tea sessions, Arabic lessons, basic Islamic course, and open house
http://islamiccg.members.atlantic.net/events.html).
Hoda Center – halaqahs, tilawah/hifz lessons, Islamic school (for children), and Saturday after fajr sessions.
Of those activities, I regularly attend these events held in the weekends at both locations:
1. Halaqah at the Hoda Center on Friday evenings – the halaqah is broken down in to several sessions. They are tilawah,
tafsir/hadith, presentation (usually a topic regarding fiqh, usulul fiqh, or contemporary issues), and open sessions/dialogues.
2. After Fajr session on Saturdays at the Hoda Center – this kulliyyah kicks off after Fajr, where we would read the quran & the
translation. Then read few ahadiths from Riyadhus-saliheen, or have a tazkirah/khatirah either by Sheikh Safwat (imam) or a
guest speaker. The session ends with solatul dhuha and breakfast.
3. Tea Session at ICG on Saturday evenings – an informal session where someone reads from Ibn Kathir’s Stories of the Prophets.
We discuss and share ideas as we go along, while drinking tea and eating desserts.
The above mentioned activities kept my weekend occupied as well as assisting me in my pursuit of Islamic knowledge and understanding, alhamdulillah. Of course it is not intensive, but it gradually helps, little by little. By the same token, I try to practice good reading habit by doing leisure reading on Islamic issues or Islamic social sciences. I regularly read the American Journal of Islamic Social Sciences (AJISS), published by the IIIT. Also, I try my best to read Maududi’s Tafheemul Quran and Riyadhus-saliheen daily. Suffice to say that I was a pretty active member on campus, and in the community, always willing to lend a helping hand when help is needed.
Alhamdulillah, mingling with Muslims of different background help taught me diversity and the importance of strength (and unity) in both diversity and numbers. It helped me understood the reality of the Muslim ummah at the present time, rather than just dwelling in an idealistic Islamic ideologies overlooking the actual phenomenon. With that being said, I have presented my case and my report as to the Islamic activities that I embrace in my community. God bless…

roda itu berpusing tak berhenti... ibarat hidup kita :: kata orang :: tapi roda itu akan berhenti kalau tidak ada tenaga dari luar yang membantu supaya roda itu sentiasa berpusing... jika tiada, lama kelamaan berhentilah ia... dan sekali ia berhenti, akan mengambil masa yang lama utk ia berpusing semula.
bagaimana jika semasa roda itu berhenti, ia berhenti diatas batu yang kemudiannya dihempap lagi oleh batu-batu yang boleh merosakkan struktur roda itu... Maka bila ia berpusing semula, tak dapatlah ia berpusing seperti sedia kala kan? kenapa roda itu tidak sepasang? well, adakah roda itu ada kaitan? adakah apa-apa yang menyambungkan roda-roda itu? Kalau tiada apa-apa mengapa harus ada 2 ? satu sudah memadai kan? kalau due-due berhenti berpusing, kita akan ade 2 roda yang tidak berpusing...
oh iye.. setelah difikir-fikirkan, persoalan ini timbul : kenapa ada Malaysian Student Association (MSA) & Malaysian Muslim Student Association (MISA) at the same time? tidak bolehkah MISA go under MSA? Apakah objektif kedua-dua persatuan ini berbeza? I guess that is one of the reasons why I want to quit from my position right now... I don't see where it differs, but I do saw where it met! sekarang pun, both organization always buat program bersama sama.

went to all classes today... alhamdulillah.. (well actually I went to Wednesday classes, right now it is 12:07 am) not so many people but at least I gain knowledge! came back home more or less at 1 pm and then cook for housemates, and then at 4:00 pm Lorie came and picked me up... she's inviting me to her house for iftar... Now I know, the guy whom I saw in bus everyday is Lorie's husband! nice guy from Cinegal (dunno how to spell) ... lots of drum ( from goat and cow skin at her house) ...
"Now you know how I felt when my husbands' friends came over... I know nothing of what they were talking about.."
"You'll get use to it .. Don't worry Lorie..."
"Yeah.. in fact, I'm learning his language rite now..." good for you Lorie...
Her husband cook all the food... delicious! alhamdulillah...
intresting ... everybody eat from a big bowl with hand... me and Lorie share the same bowl with 2 kids... shy kids LOL!
Lorie have lots of her painting on the wall.. all are very nice... creative Lorie! masyaAllah...
"My husband said he saw you on bus and he told me he met a few Muslim girls ... one with beautiful brown eyes..."
"ohh... it's you!" shy me...
but the food was so good... like it... Lorie gave me some left over (salmon fish) to bring home... but as I am staying home alone, I gave it to bothers downstairs... hope they'll like it too! insyaAllah...
we pray maghrib together, Lorie's husband lead us.. and at the end Lorie complaining her husband pray too fast! I smiled...

SAYA pernah ditanya seseorang, “Adakah artis-artis menjalani ibadah puasa pada Ramadan Al Mubarak?” Terasa lucu saya dengan pertanyaan itu walaupun ia boleh mencetuskan rasa tidak senang. Sebagai insan seni kami terpaksa menerima apa saja yang dilontarkan melalui kata-kata walaupun ia terlalu pahit.
Hakikatnya apabila umat Islam lain patuh mengikuti ajaran agama dan suruhan Allah maka artis juga tidak terkecuali. Apabila umat Islam seluruhnya menjalani puasa pada Ramadan bermakna artis beragama Islam juga mesti patuh dengan ibadah itu. Bukankah seluruh penganut agama Islam itu sama saja di sisi Allah? Apakah kerana artis diselaputi glamor maka tanggapan negatif sering dilemparkan?
Secara nyata memang artis nampak seperti orang yang istimewa kerana tugas mereka yang ada hubung kait dengan glamor dan gemerlapan. Kegiatan atau tugas mereka pula sentiasa terdedah kepada publisiti. Bertambah lagi sejak akhir-akhir ini medium publisiti begitu meluas sekali baik daripada cetak mahu pun elektronik.
Bidang lakonan, nyanyian lawak jenaka atau apa saja cabang seni sebenarnya mempunyai fungsi yang sama dengan bidang lain. Semuanya bekerja dengan satu matlamat untuk mencari rezeki bagi menampung hidup. Yang membezakan insan seni dan orang biasa ialah kami bekerja atas landasan glamor kerana diiringi publisiti dan terdedah kepada masyarakat.
Sebab itu kedudukan artis selalu dilihat istimewa dan dunia artis pula menjadi dunia yang diperkatakan oleh masyarakat. Barangkali itulah jurang yang sedikit sebanyak membezakan tugasan di dunia artis dengan tugasan di bidang lain yang lebih tertutup daripada perhatian ramai.
Saya tidak nafikan ada sesetengah artis yang lupa daratan. Publisiti yang meluas menjadikan artis itu merasakan kedudukannya istimewa. Kedudukan mereka yang dikelilingi peminat yang ramai menjadikan mereka lupa diri atau besar kepala.
Tetapi tidak kurang juga artis yang begitu serius dan komited dengan tugasan di bidang kesenian atau hiburan sehingga soal glamor atau publisiti bukanlah perkara yang diambil berat sangat. Artis golongan ini lebih mementingkan nilai tugasan dan disiplin yang semestinya menjadi prinsip dalam kehidupan. Sebab itu nama-nama seperti Datuk Rahim Razali, Datuk Jins Shamsudin, Ahmad Tarmimi Siregar, Rosyam Nor, Erra Fazira, Siti Nurhaliza, Abby Abadi (sekadar menyebut beberapa nama) begitu dihargai peminat seni mereka.

Dan begitu jugalah kegiatan seni yang lain berjalan terus pada Ramadan. Apa yang penting nawaitu kita dalam mencari rezeki yang halal dan diredai Allah SWT.
Bagi artis yang terbabit dalam bidang nyanyian kegiatan mereka boleh dikatakan agak rancak juga pada Ramadan. Stesen TV kita membuat pelbagai rakaman untuk rancangan yang akan memeriahkan suasana Aidilfitri yang bakal tiba. Tetapi kegiatan di bidang pertunjukan pentas biasanya dibekukan.
Bagaimanapun menjelang musim raya kebanyakan artis dalam bidang nyanyian akan menjadi begitu sibuk. Pelbagai undangan menyanyi di serata pelusuk tanah air sedang menunggu penyanyi. Pendek kata musim hari raya adalah musim yang mewah kepada penyanyi.
Sebagai menghormati bulan puasa tidak ada tayangan filem Melayu baru di pawagam. Bulan puasa adalah bulan yang beku untuk tayangan filem Melayu baru. Tetapi produser yang mendapat peluang untuk menayangkan filem keluarannya pada musim raya sibuk mengatur strategi promosi dan publisiti pada bulan puasa.
Saya sendiri tidak berdiam diri pada bulan puasa. Banyak kerja dalam studio dan juga dalam pejabat perlu saya bereskan. Di samping itu urusan keluarga dapat saya berikan tumpuan yang lebih serius. Maklumlah beberapa bulan sebelum masuk bulan puasa saya begitu sibuk dengan penggambaran filem Janji Diana dan juga penggambaran siri Gerak Khas yang setiap minggu menemui penonton di saluran 1 RTM.
Harapan saya supaya masyarakat menerima artis Islam dengan minda terbuka. Janganlah mudah memandang serong kepada kegiatan artis yang mencari rezeki. Artis pula kalau mahu dihormati masyarakat janganlah sewenang-wenangnya melakukan sesuatu yang bertentangan dengan hukum agama kita yang suci. Dan yang paling utama janganlah berasakan diri terlalu istimewa daripada orang lain hingga sanggup melakukan kemungkaran. Artis sebegini akan hanya merosakkan imej golongan artis lain. Bak kata pepatah, "Kerana nila setitik habis rosak susu sebelanga". Renungkanlah dan selamat berpuasa!
Roll, Camera, Action! Bekerja atas landasan glamor
SAYA pernah ditanya seseorang, “Adakah artis-artis menjalani ibadah puasa pada Ramadan Al Mubarak?” Terasa lucu saya dengan pertanyaan itu walaupun ia boleh mencetuskan rasa tidak senang. Sebagai insan seni kami terpaksa menerima apa saja yang dilontarkan melalui kata-kata walaupun ia terlalu pahit.
Hakikatnya apabila umat Islam lain patuh mengikuti ajaran agama dan suruhan Allah maka artis juga tidak terkecuali. Apabila umat Islam seluruhnya menjalani puasa pada Ramadan bermakna artis beragama Islam juga mesti patuh dengan ibadah itu. Bukankah seluruh penganut agama Islam itu sama saja di sisi Allah? Apakah kerana artis diselaputi glamor maka tanggapan negatif sering dilemparkan?
Secara nyata memang artis nampak seperti orang yang istimewa kerana tugas mereka yang ada hubung kait dengan glamor dan gemerlapan. Kegiatan atau tugas mereka pula sentiasa terdedah kepada publisiti. Bertambah lagi sejak akhir-akhir ini medium publisiti begitu meluas sekali baik daripada cetak mahu pun elektronik.
Bidang lakonan, nyanyian lawak jenaka atau apa saja cabang seni sebenarnya mempunyai fungsi yang sama dengan bidang lain. Semuanya bekerja dengan satu matlamat untuk mencari rezeki bagi menampung hidup. Yang membezakan insan seni dan orang biasa ialah kami bekerja atas landasan glamor kerana diiringi publisiti dan terdedah kepada masyarakat.
Sebab itu kedudukan artis selalu dilihat istimewa dan dunia artis pula menjadi dunia yang diperkatakan oleh masyarakat. Barangkali itulah jurang yang sedikit sebanyak membezakan tugasan di dunia artis dengan tugasan di bidang lain yang lebih tertutup daripada perhatian ramai.

The Arabic word for nation, “Ummah”, is employed in the Quran with many different meanings. Ummah can mean a group of people, however small.
Allah says: “And when he arrived at the watering place in Madyan, he found there a group of men (Ummah) watering their flocks.” [Surah al-Qasas: 23]
Allah also says: “Every time a new group (ummah) enters, it curses its sister group.” [Surah al-A’raf: 38]
It can also mean people united by faith. This meaning of the word “Ummah” can be found in many places in the Quran.
Allah says: “Humanity was a single ummah and Allah sent Messengers with glad tidings and warnings…” [Surah al-Baqarah: 213]
Allah says: “You are the best nation (ummah) brought forth for humanity. You enjoin what is right, forbid what is wrong, and believe in Allah.” [Surah Al Imran: 110]
This means that the Ummah, the Muslim community is good for all people. The Muslims were not brought forth merely to benefit themselves. They must teach and guide the rest of humanity and show them the way to attain felicity.
The video “Faces of Islam – Significance of Ummah” tries to define Muslim community, the Ummah and find differences with other communities. It characterized the Ummah as a group of people with good characters and performing good deed. Unfortunately, nowadays not every Muslim practice Islam in their life and that is why hardship comes to them.
But, the Ummah, the Muslim community will never be devoid of righteous people. Most Muslims adhere to the fundamentals of Islam. Even those who fall into some heresies do so primarily because of ignorance. Many of these people have no one to teach and to make them understand the real teaching in Islam, which was revealed to Muhammad saw by God, Allah swt. As long as they still maintain that there is no God but Allah and that Muhammad saw is the Messenger of Allah, then they should still be considered Muslims. If they do or say something that can bring them close to unbelief, the statement can be declared as action of unbelief without calling the person involved an unbeliever. They may be resulting from ignorant or they may be acting under a mistaken interpretation.
Though there will never again be an absolute state of ignorance and unbelief after the coming of Prophet Muhammad saw, ignorance can manifest itself through sins. When Abu Zarr taunted Bilal with the words: “You son of a black woman”, the Prophet saw said to him: “You are a man who has within you something from the times of ignorance.” [Saih al-Bukhari (30), Sahih Muslim (1661)] Here the Prophet accused Abu Zarr of possessing a trait of the times of ignorance because of his sin of being a racist. Al-Bukhari places this hadith under the heading “Chapter: Sins are from the Affairs of the Times of Ignorance, but Their Perpetrators are not Unbelievers unless they Fall into Polytheism”.
Some traits from the times of ignorance will be held by certain individuals or be prevalent in certain areas of the world, but never again will ignorance be all-pervasive. This will be the case until right before the end of time, when Islam will perish. The Prophet saw said: “Islam will be obliterated just like a stain is washed from a piece of clothing. No one will know anything about fasting, prayer, pilgrimage, and charity. The Book of Allah will be taken away one night until not a verse of it is left on Earth. There will remain some old people who will say: “We found our fathers uttering the words “there is no god but Allah” so we say them as well.”” [Sunan Ibn Majah (4049) with an authentic chain of transmission.]
The Ummah from generation to generation should represent the values set forth in the Quran, carries out its commandments and avoids what it prohibits. It retains within its active life the knowledge, guidance, and faith of the Prophets to a degree that no other nation can boast. It carries with it a light by which it would completely reform itself if it would only act upon it. This light is the Quran and Sunnah.
The Quran, in unambiguous terms, tells the Ummah to be different than those nations of the past in its beliefs, its deeds, its conduct, and its character. At the same time, they are not supposed to cultivate differences amongst themselves. They should not try to be distinctive from other Muslims who are saved from those who are engaged in heretical innovations or who flaunt their sins and iniquities. They must not intentionally differentiate themselves from other Muslims, whether it be in appearance, dress, behavior, or anything else. If a person purposely tries to be different in matters that are not part of the Sunnah, then this is part of the conspicuousness that is forbidden in Islam.
The earliest Muslims disliked being conspicuous, even in some practices that were founded but that were not absolutely clear. They preferred to conform to the general public and disliked going against them unless the dictates of Islamic Law required that from them. They show little understanding of Islamic Law in doing so. This is nothing more than an attempt to be above others or to seek leadership. A person should only distinguish himself by adhering to a Sunnah that others have neglected or in carrying out an Islamic duty that others fail to carry out or in doing some virtuous deed in hopes that others will follow suit. This is not the same as trying to be different for the sake of being different.
Above all, human themselves is Allah’s creation with needs. Human needs to belong. The full meaning of Islam cannot be realized without this need being fulfilled. Prayer is a congregational duty. So is the pilgrimage. In Ramadan, Muslims fast together. We cannot put the moral values of Islam into practice without living in a community. How can we show kindness, patience, generosity, and courage without interacting with others?
A human being, after belonging to this Ummah, has a natural need to be esteemed by others who also belong to it. He must feel useful and valuable and that he has some impact on those around him. When needs are not fulfilled, people sometimes resort to destructive and irrational behavior in order to assert themselves.
We can see how Allah's Messenger used to praise different people, tribes, ethnic groups, and countries. He pointed out the efforts of different individuals. We see this often in the Sunnah. Some scholars have written books just on this topic. It is a great honor indeed for a person when Allah's Messenger praises him.
Moreover, Allah praises the Companions in the Quran: He says: “Allah has turned in favor to the Prophet, the Emigrants, and the Helpers” [Surah al-Tawbah: 117]
The Prophet would praise those who were new to Islam. Sometimes he would do so indirectly, like when he said, before entering Mecca: “Anyone who enters the home of Abu Sufyan will be safe.” [Sahih Muslim (1780)] He mentioned the home of Abu Sufyan specifically out of respect, though he had also said: “Anyone who closes the door to his home will be safe, and anyone who enters the mosque will be safe.” [Sunan Abi Dawud (3022)] We cannot expect anyone to leave his home or the mosque and prefer to seek safety in Abu Sufyan's house? The Prophet made specific mention of Abu Sufyan to acknowledge him, since he had just accepted Islam. Likewise, he reconciled the hearts of many people by giving them gifts and acknowledging them in other ways. A person's reputation has no less value to him than material wealth. A person's need for esteem is a natural part of his makeup that Allah has placed within him. Therefore, Allah's Law comes with what protects and completes this esteem.
A person also needs to be self-actualized. This is an internal calling. Islam seeks to enhance this need, channel it, and bring it to fulfillment. We find that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “When a person dies, his deeds end, except for three: charity that continues to benefit people, knowledge that he taught which continues to provide benefit, and a pious child who prays for him.” [Sunan al-Tirmidhi (1376)] and Sunan al-Nasai (3651)]
Many are inspired by these words and try to increase their efforts and their productivity, seeking to immortalize themselves with their deeds, hoping for their reward with Allah. People seek to leave behind some works of charity that will continue long after they die to benefit people. Others seek to impart useful knowledge. People seek to raise pious children who will carry on their legacy and pray for them after they die.
Yet, love and loyalty should not make one blind to the mistakes of others. Someone enamored with love might speak about personal criticism and correction, but his deep-rooted loyalty unfortunately will not let him take this beyond a certain point. This is an obvious fact. So it appears that justice and impartiality in such circumstances is almost impossible and Allah knows best except that when we have already decided that impossibility exists only in the minds of the weak. Yet Allah has described the human being as oppressive and ignorant. So Muslims ask Allah to help them in their dealings with each other and give them patience in their weakness and make them aware of their faults before it is too late.

alhamdulillah hari ni ade 2 iftar di kampus, one by international dialogue and the other by Fatima and Maryam Ashraf! I was working at the Memorial Library and so I went to Red Gym where the first one was held... the served turkey and other egyptian food! kenyang alhamdulillah.. then met mimi, she was working there and she asked me if I want to got to the other one and I said yes! so, she waited for me to finish my food and we walked for like 7 minutes to MSC Satellite, near the dorms. When we arrived the discussion already started!
few non-Muslims, lots of Muslims but the few asked many questions.. one girl (i think she's a Spanish) asking questions about the Prophet. She misunderstood some facts as she tries to find similarities between her religion and ours... Jesus as God, the new testament written by Jesus companion and etc... But we made it clear to her soon after that...

alhamdulillah hari ni ade 2 iftar di kampus, one by international dialogue and the other by Fatima and Maryam Ashraf! I was working at the Memorial Library and so I went to Red Gym where the first one was held... the served turkey and other egyptian food! kenyang alhamdulillah.. then met mimi, she was working there and she asked me if I want to got to the other one and I said yes! so, she waited for me to finish my food and we walked for like 7 minutes to MSC Satellite, near the dorms. When we arrived the discussion already started!
few non-Muslims, lots of Muslims but the few asked many questions.. one girl (i think she's a Spanish) asking questions about the Prophet. She misunderstood some facts as she tries to find similarities between her religion and ours... Jesus as God, the new testament written by Jesus companion and etc... But we made it clear to her soon after that...

jual kueh hari ini: keria, onde-onde and solok lada (lada sumbat isi ikan) ... alhamdulillah doing good and had lots of fun while doing it! then, sisters gathering! nasi ayam yg sungguh enak! syukur to Allah... what we talked about during gathering?
tazkirah by Ijan: she presented 25 nasehat al-Luqman to his son (tak cukup 25!)
and then Q and A session, discussion on above matter
then I continued talking about al-Haq, Haqaqa, hakikat
hak kite kepada al-Quran. questions arose, lots of them... "ya Allah moga aku tidak sesat dalam menyampaikan ajaranMu .."
then Mazu conducted discussion on Ramadhan ....
next we watched ET (alien making friends with human!) how intresting!
then ade yg balik, and few stay over! for qiamulail insyaAllah...
hmm...

nak marah ke tak? tak lah... betul la tuh, gatal la tuh... asik ckp pasal kawin yek... tu la kan... kene stop ckp pasal kawin.

tapi kan, to tell you the truth, ramai yg berimpian like me (marriage, family, kids), but tak ramai yg berani nak ckp because of ignorance people like you... tak heran kalau ade byk lg kes Hasnah Texas kalau mcm ni... good la u speak what u wanted to speak up, but then to be nice why not just say sth positive or naturally being positive... thanx anyway for you comment! heh...
yesterday presentation, mak aii soalan2 depa, alhamdulillah I was prepared! mat saleh penuh dgn soalan... harap mereka belajar dengan niat ingin tahu, bukan dengan niat amarah! insyaAllah...
mak, abah and adik2 sume kat kampung sekarang! seronoknyer.... boleh jumpe atok ngan wan... nanti mesti ade berdozen2 anak-anak sepupu yg tidak dikenali... kadar bertambahnye bilangan ahli dalam keluarga tinggi!

Perjalanan yang belum berkesudahan dan pemergian yang belum tiba

Benarlah kata-kataMu, ya Allah, bahawa setiap mereka yang mengaku beriman sesungguhnya akan diuji untuk membuktikan keimanan mereka. à “tanpa ujian, maka tidak tahu sama ada kita lulus atau gagal”
Apakah manusia itu menyangka bahawa mereka dibiarkan (sahaja) mengatakan: “ Kami telah beriman”, sedangkan mereka tidak diuji lagi? Dan sesungguhnya Kami telah menguji orang-orang yang sebelum mereka, maka sesungguhnya Allah mengetahui orang-orang yang benar dan sesungguhnya Dia mengetahui orang-orang yang dusta. (surah Al-‘Ankabut, 29: 2, 3) --> terima kasih utk ayat2 ini
Telah lama ku cari ketenangan ini dan tak ku sangka ketenangan ini cukup membahagiakan.Tak ku sangka segala-galanya dipermudahkan olehMu yang Maha Kuasa. Banyak kali perkataan 'taqwa' ku dengari dalam ceramah yang diikuti. Banyak kali hinggakan terlekat definisi taqwa tadi di memori. Tapi, entah apa silapnya, daku tetap tidak berubah.
Namun, baru kini ku mengerti akan hakikat taqwa ini. Ku rasakan tidak perlu untuk banyak kali ke majlis-majlis agama untuk berubah. Cuma, apa yang ku pasti, dengan menghadiri majlis-majlis agama ini akan dapat membersih hatiku ini dan menguatkan lagi ingatanku kepadaMu, ya Allah, Tuhan yang Maha Esa. Bersama-sama dengan mereka yang mengagungkanMu pasti menguatkan tekad ini untuk menjadi muslim sejati.
"And We shall remove from their breasts any (mutual) hatred or sense of injury (which they had, if at all in the life of this world); rivers flowing under them, and they will say: “All the praises and thanks be to Allah, Who has guided us! Indeed, the Messengers of our Lord did come with truth.” And it will be cried to them: “This is the paradise which you have inherited for what you used to do.”
(surah Al-A’raf, 7: 43) --> teringat study circle semalam, hidayah tak akan datang tiba-tiba (tidak dgn hanya menyentuh al quran) tetapi untuk mendapat hidayah itu, perlulah kita mempraktikkan ajaranNya sedaya yang kita boleh. Berusaha mempertingkatkan diri, insyaAllah akan datang hidayah itu seperti yang telah Allah tetapkan.
Setelah lama dicari, petunjuk yang dicari-cari akhirnya tiba. Berbatu-batu jauh mencari, akhirnya berjumpa juga akhirnya. Betapa agungnya bila mengenal yang Maha Esa. Segala benda di sekeliling cukup nyata menggambarkan keagunganNya. Telah nyata kini, daku hanyalah seorang hamba yang ada tanggungjawabnya.
Detik hati ini lagi,
"Lahirku tidak semasa hayatmu, rasul tercinta. Namun,daku
percaya sepenuhnya dengan segala yang dibawa olehmu.Biarpun
hidupku tidak lagi bersama-samamu, ya Rasullullah,akan ku
abadikan sunnahmu dalam hidup yang ada. Tak banyak yang

jika ini lahir dr isi hati seseorang, alhamdulillah syukur. Benar, iman, taqwa bukan mudah untuk didapati. Benar, salah dan silap amatlah mudah kita lakukan atau dekati. Tapi, selagi kita sedar itu bukan yang benar dan dengan rasa rendah diri bertaubat, insyaAllah Allah akan bersama-sama dengan kita. Ameen…

I forgot to bring the eid cards to show to Laurie and friends in class. Laurie is so tired today, and she cannot hold till the break fast time. Poor her... She carried with her all the art tools and also some other stuff. Last week she had to carry her drum (she helps her husband teaches African dancing class) which is 10 lb - 15 lb.
We're planning on hosting a pot luck gathering for our Islam; Religion and Culture class this thanksgiving break! but we hadn't had any plan yet! maybe at my house since all my housemates are going to Michigan. I cancelled my trip to Purdue University too! Maafkan ana sahabat-sahabat sekalian... insyaAllah panjang umur kita jumpe di Muktamar Senawi 2002

before getting into class today, I sat on a bench with an American woman who just moved from Ohio to Madison and are doing her Phd in North Africa studies and minor in Children Theater. Intresting and beneficial conversation. Half way, Laurie came and she also joined us! What did we talk about?
It started with the veil issue where the woman argued that some countries do not allowed women to wear veil and some others force them to wear one. "Women are capable of making their own decision and have RIGHTS to do what they want" I smiled....
Then she asked if I'm going back for the holiday... and I said no. Why? I explained to her, how worried we are about our visa status until we don't feel it is safe to leave America. She agreed... Than she talked about how ignorance people are nowadays. Not to exclude the Muslim; both are just the same. Laurie added that the uneducated people hould be given chance to learn other cultures and religions and made them be more open minded. I agreed too!

LOL... the guy next to me today are so quiet and take notes all the time. Respect u brother! One time, I was flipping my note book, it slipped onto that guy's lap... and he was shocked... sorry!!!!! didn't mean to.... he smiled... Sufism....
Remember Reem said that Prof. Mamoon is typically Islam by cultural not by practice. She confirmed me with the fact that he is married to a Japanese women and she never converted yet! same goes for his children. 'Allahualam....

before getting into class today, I sat on a bench with an American woman who just moved from Ohio to Madison and are doing her Phd in North Africa studies and minor in Children Theater. Intresting and beneficial conversation. Half way, Laurie came and she also joined us! What did we talk about?
It started with the veil issue where the woman argued that some countries do not allowed women to wear veil and some others force them to wear one. "Women are capable of making their own decision and have RIGHTS to do what they want" I smiled....
Then she asked if I'm going back for the holiday... and I said no. Why? I explained to her, how worried we are about our visa status until we don't feel it is safe to leave America. She agreed... Than she talked about how ignorance people are nowadays. Not to exclude the Muslim; both are just the same. Laurie added that the uneducated people hould be given chance to learn other cultures and religions and made them be more open minded. I agreed too!

The last time we had halaqah at Islamic Center, we discussed about Ramadhan, and Saema did ask about the 3 part of Ramadhan. Today, alhamdulillah from misg-net I have the answer!
(1) Rahmah / mercy
(2) Forgiveness
(3) Freedom from fire hell
told Saema about it, and she said thanks... and by means I should say thanks on her behalf to akhi Abli and Akh. Akmar... hmm... LOL jazakallah....

assalamualeikum wbt
taking a break from Math 340 (intro to linear algebra) INTRO? kalau go into deeper, what will life be? 'Allahualam... I did mention about Halloween costumes and etc before (refer to my 12th Nov. blogging). One brother said,"the one where u beristighfar bout putting halloween pics" ... I smiled!
suddenly I realized... I did comment something about judging people before... how u shouldn't judge other people and everything... pulang paku buah keras to me... Once I poured out the word, what they were thinking and etc., I was actually judging them by outside, by what I see... Am I allowed to do so? By whom? If not, why? anyway, thanks akhi...
Went to Saema's "Club House" in West area, with Reem and Mona... eat lots of rice (Egyptian cookings) and desserts nyum nyum! alhamdulillah... Reem keep asking me about marriage; all the way to Saema's place she was arguing with me about it! ooo cute Reem, "When it comes, it comes" ok? The funny part was when she kept complaining how big she is compared to any Malaysian brother (well, actually she was comparing herself to bro. Farhan) that's biased Reem! LOL.... Maha (Reem's sister) and Reem are such a different person, but both are nice, very nice! Glad Allah let me met them... alhamdulillah... (notes: Reem is smaller and prettier than me .... just wanna let brothers out there know... LOL)
Abdullah, Saema's cute and clever son makes me happy tonite! I played with him for couple of hours... I love kids, very much! oh oh, I almost forgot, Mimi and Jennah are getting married next summer! Jennah's is on the 21st of June and for Mimi, she's still not sure but she and Bilal have already signed the legal papers (legal according to state law maybe!?) not sure... Hope Allah makes Mimi's wedding easy ameen.... Congratulations both of you!!!!!!!!!
