Waba (Wanita Alaf Baru)

Definasi Sumbang mahram

(1) Faktor sumbang mahram berlaku

“Pelaku sumbang mahram wajar dihukum berat. Kalau ikut kehendak saya, kita bawa saja pelaku sumbang mahram ke khalayak ramai dan ditibai “ Perdana Menteri
Langkah-langkah pencegahan sumbang mahram.

today is the first day of summer class. Arrived at Badger #7 around 8:30 pm yesterdat after a long trip back from Purdue University. We had fun, sad and bitter experiences. Most of all, it was an enjoyable vacation with old and new friends :-)

There was something going on yesterday. Well, somebody hurt her shoulder and unfortunately couldn't drive her car and so she asked the guy who was supposed to drive with us to drive her car. It was a last minute changes and we weren't that happy with it. But why? First and foremost, we already planned to go somewhere, the four of us and next the driver exchanging cost our time a lot. From waiting to actually departing. We should be moving at 9 am but we did so only after 11 am. It doesn't matter whosever driving which car, but what does matter was that the deal, the time and the plan. We had our plan, so did anyone else. Anyone will be mad if their plan were disturbed 'severely' I should say!

but you are such a good person, with patience, understanding and politeness until they/she took advantages on you. Why would you buy her words? why? Honestly, you're such a good person -- I felt so small sitting next to you, just like being next to my big bro. Keep it up kay!?

and I -- I'm the worst person in the world. Contributing nothing to anyone except myself (how selfish!), with my fluctuated mood and sour faces I was behaving very bad. Hate myself for that; seriously!

Yus met with accident on her field trip. "May she recover fast, ameen..."

The grand nite of Midwest -- what went on? nothing much, I had nothing to wear and so I just wore my long sleeve t shirt and jeans. Met Kak Rus and other officers in the elevator and she did offered me her cloth but I refused. But then I went on mumbling about my own costume and maybe made my friends bored. Sorry guys! We had dinner and then performance and Award giving ceremony. Performance: wow!!!!!!!!! funny, sexy, more than expected!

oh oh... met ex-mrsms' : yazrol, husni, kak yana & kak yani. met Farid, met pojie yg kurussss, met the newly wed couples, met Lynne!!!!! huhuhu... and many more people... it was fun and intresting! Farid pendek hehe...

okeh... I dropped my Interpersonal Com class today, and will be taking music class which only starts on June 16 until Aug 10. InsyaAllah could help Kak Ruhaya taking care of her child yeay!

wanted to go on trip, but dunno where to go or with whom. So, anyone who is free and financially stable, please come to Madison. I'll cook anything you want and guide you through all places in Madison insyaAllah... :-)

and and... to anyone who wanted to travel but have nobody to go with, contact la me... insyaAllah I'll think about it -- save money, can meet new friends and old ones, can buy2 thing whatt... hehe... semua orang best! serius!

About Sabar
=========
Sabar isn't just perbuatan but also a music instrument. A Western African Instruments.

Sabar, Sabaro (drum)

The main drum of the Senegalese M'balax, the sabar is a drum of more than a metre and is used to party! Its single head is beaten by the left hand while the right hand provides syncopation with a tiny stick. Lots of music and dances are baed around the beat of these drums in West Africa, such as the highly charged dance "le ventilateur".

When we sabar, other people will become sabar too and vice versa. But when you lost your sabar, sometime somebody can get hurt physically or emotionally. See! How strong sabar is? Jom, let's SABAR! :-)

NO? hmm... well, I did! 2 couples are getting married tomorrow in Purdue University but I couldn't go as it is far -- moga kekal ke anak cucu insyaAllah... :-)

I am thinking of changing my major to Mathematics instead of Comp Sci. WHY? hmm.. don't have 'the moment' with cs but a little moment with maths. But, am need to deal with MARA first la... ayooo so afraid la... so how?

my cs exam went well this morning, alhamdulillah... I went to work after the exam just to find out that I have hundreds of WI maps to scan. Well, at least am not doing levelling :-) Thanks Pat. I bought few stuff from Yue Wah since our chicken already finished. aiyyaaa... everyday chicken... hehe...

here's something to reflect [about relationship with others]

From the most important principles that should be followed when building relationships with people are:

Correct the relationship between yourself and Allah and Allah will then correct the relationship between yourself and others. Studies have proved that every individual has his own unique pattern of understanding and that patterns are usually one of the following:

-A visual pattern, i.e. one looks at the world and deals with it from a physical point of view.
-A hearing pattern, i.e. one looks at the world and deals with it based on the words that one hears (one better understands by hearing).
-An emotion-based pattern, i.e. one looks at the world through one's emotions and inner feelings.

If you succeed in understanding how a particular individual perceives things (i.e., which pattern one emphasizes), then you can more easily achieve harmony and understanding between the two of you, as well as achieve confidence in your relationship. Put yourself in the place of others and let them hear from you what you like to hear from them, and behave with them the way you like them to behave with you. Always keep smiling, especially during difficult situations and incidents. Keep your calm and self control when provoked. Always be sensitive to feelings of others, their rights and their needs. Choose your words carefully, especially during the first encounter. Be cheerful when speaking and beware of dull facial expressions and tough looks even if your words are very nice. When the atmosphere is not appropriate to talk about a particular subject, then it is better to end the talk about that subject in a courteous way and postpone it to a more appropriate time. Decorate your talk with jokes and proverbs without making this overwhelming in your talk, and tell only the truth. This will induce an interactive discussion.

Give away gifts even if small ones and rush to help others even if in little ways, because these are means of winning hearts and of building relationships. It is related in Adab al-Mufrad of Al-Bukhari that the Prophet (may peace and blessing be upon him) said:
"Give gifts as it will create love amongst you."
Spread Salam (Islamic greeting) and reply to a greeting with a better one. This is a key to winning others' hearts, so be eager to own this key. Keep your promises and be truthful in your talk. This will make others love you even when you cannot accomplish what they want. Be generous within your means. Even whatever little that you may give will put you in a high position in the hearts of people. No one can win the hearts of others while he is described as stingy and not generous. Be simple and spontaneous in dealing with others. Being organized in your life will make you win others' respect, even that of your enemies. Be clean in your body, mouth and clothing, be stylish without exaggeration, and put on a nice fragrance; all these will make others that are dealing with you more comfortable, instead of making them avoid you. These principles can be applied under all circumstances and in all roles - at work, at home, with our husband or our wife, our father, our sons, our friends, or with strangers.

when communicating, each person need to take into account the other person thoughts and feeling. The act of listening is important!
Never interrupt a talk though you know it inside out. Even me myself didn't practice this very well, but will keep trying heh... I did remember times when my mom was talking to her friends and I was there, if I ever open my mouth, my mom would look at me with angry face, and so I just stood there quietly, trying very very hard to understand what were they talking about. Funny!

Yes, If I were given a chance to make a wish, I wish to see cik Dillah -- misses her so much although I never meet her in person, we talked on the phone, exchanged emails and etc. "awakkkkkkk..... rindu la.... iskk..."

oh ye, I came across Saifuddin's page (my BWP's president in MRSM) hmm... he seemed happy with new gurl -- sian alisa... ape la din! ape kurangnya alisa tuh? cuba habaq maiii kat cek! tapi, takpa la... nak buat lagu mana, mmg dah takde rezeki hangpa berdua... baguih jugak, boley alisa belajaq betui2.. kan? heh... cinta koprat dulu tuh.. huhuhuhu...

I read this @ emedia

Pastikan makanan halal

Kiriman: Zam, Kuala Pilah

JAWAPAN

Umat Islam usah mudah kalah

Sunat khatankan anak perempuan

ANAK perempuan saya berusia empat tahun, tetapi masih belum berkhatan atas sebab tertentu. Saya ingin penjelasan ustazah mengenai masalah berkenaan dan apakah hukum berkhatan terhadap anak perempuan?

Kiriman: Rohani, Kangar

JAWAPAN

Kiriman: Ana, Parit Buntar

JAWAPAN

we had MSA voting today... seemed hot! it was a relief to see people voice out their opinion rather than back bitting although I was not. Dinner MSA -- $15 dollar per head -- that is reasonable but I can't pay that much. It's ok la, not big of a deal if I wasn't there :-) in fact it is better because I dun have to see people wearing extraordinary 'costumes' (not pointing anyone ehhh...) hopefully nobody wil be wearing the 'satan' costume anymore la... insyaAllah...

the more you tried being strict about certain issue, the more people hate you -- true! the more you keep quiet, the more people assume your 'evilness'... why? why? and WHY? and and... the more you talking, the more you talk sins... rite? I language, I language

Midwest issue is getting bigger -- dun care la if I couldn't go, just wanna see kak Yana, kak Yani and their mother (long time no seee...) who's fault? dunno... no pointing pointing to people aaaa...

what else to say? no more la... but I am very very feeling guilty for all my doings previously .. Allah knows what I did... "may Allah forgive me, my family and all the Muslims in this world...ameen"

GooD LucK to people with finals tomorrow and days after... "may Allah make it easy for us... ameen"

sayang mak, sayang abah, sayang mekmah, sayang arif, sayang eka, sayang mamat.... ok la, suke atan... (bro in law aaa...) :-)

assalamualeikum wbt

am working at soc sci ref lib rite now. Not too many people here and so I can study for finals :-) insyaAllah.... I came across this intresting story:

KISAH SEEKOR ULAT DENGAN NABI DAUD A.S

"Wahai Nabi Allah!

Prophet Daud (David) in the Quran....

"We gave him Isaac, and Jacob: all We guided and before him, We guided Noah, and among his progeny David, Solomon, Ayub, Joseph, Moses, and Aaron :Thus do We reward those who do good. And Zakariya and Yahya, and Jesus and Elias: all in the ranks of righteous. And Isma'il and Elisha and Jonah (Yunus) and Lut. And to all we gave favour above the nations." [Qur'an An'am 6:84-86]

The Qur'an contains many stories of the prophets sent to Bani Israel. We can read about the story of the rise of Daud (pbuh), who was the King of the Israelites , particularly of Saul's fight with Goliath (jalut) and Goliath's death at the hands of Daud (pbuh). The war broke out between the Israelites and the Philistines. The army of the Philistines was commanded by Goliath who was a man of lofty stature. The Israelites were overawed to see Goliath's army which was well accoutred. Daud (pbuh) called out his opponents to combat but none of the Israelites had the courage to accept the challenge. The people of Bani Israel had no courage, and the Prophet Daud could not bear this disgrace. So he decided to face Goliath for the sake of truth, honour and dignity. His story reveals that justice is an essential part of faith and, further, that God loves the just and abhors the unjust.

Also we know that Daud's yougest son, Prophet Sulaimán (pbuh) was a wise King. His efforts to first subdue the powerful Queen of Sheba and later to persuade her to take the right path also find a place in the Qur'an.

I really really want to own the ipod but I have priorities and ipod is like the last thing on it. Final is coming! "May Allah make it easy for me and friends...ameen" Nothing much today; went to school and to work, had an apple and a banana for lunch, got back, eat dinner and all... Jessica was asking if she could use my SIT account to put her page which she's going to use for prsentation next week. OK no problem at all!

There are huge differences between life in America and in Malaysia. The Americans are protected by the amendments and are practicing secularism whereas in Malaysia, religion and life cross each other that we have no reason to disobey it. Here for example if you were caught while having sex with the same gender (homosexuality), you could claim your right of privacy but in Malaysia you are in the first place breaking the norms and therefore accused.

thesis: There is no such thing as 'Malay Culture' right or wrong?
[p/s: will get back to this soon after final insyaAllah...]
assalamualeikum wbt

hmm... the person whom I pushed when I was 12 messaged me yesterday. Nice. Zaly GEMUK!!!! hehehe... met Jessica on my way back home today and she told me about her trip to Turkey to visit his husband's family this summer. GooD LucK! yesterday while I was walking near library mall, 2 girls were sending out stuff to people and so I walked close to them to see what they were giving out. They gave me a pack of junk food with a brochure stapled to it. I read it and it was about Israeli Fair -- OK! It was peanut butter by the way!

Thanks to Nana for her article on negative calories. I am eating all the fruits and vegetables on the list and fortunately I am addicted to eating healthy food! alhamdulillah.. you should try kiwi fruit and oranges (Navel) ... and Yoplait Lowfat yogurt!

"And We gave you the shade of clouds and sent down to you Manna and quails, saying: "Eat of the good things We have provided for you:" (but they rebelled); to Us they did no harm, but they harmed their own souls." [Al - Baqarah : 57]

"Fair in the eyes of men is the love of things they covet: women and sons; heaped-up hoards of gold and silver; horses branded (for blood and excellence); and (wealth of) cattle and well-tilled land. Such are the possessions of this world's life; but in nearness to Allah is the best of the goals (to return to)." [Al - Imran : 14]

a little bit about Sumaiyah:

Sometimes you're stuck with many things other than yourself. Yes, you wanna be good and perfect, but it isn't that easy. Living in a community and having a family restricted you from doing sth you wanna do. Right or Wrong? Let by gone be by gone... what to do? insyaAllah I will make my own decision insyaAllah....

I won't be going back this summer... sad but it's necessary. Life isn't always running smooth... there's bumps and bumps and lots of bumps...

assalamualeikum wbt

The event went very very well though there's one guy who was walking by and he shouted something that anyone could hardly understand because his mouth was full of food. He went away after 'assaulting' the event. The event started with bro Uwaymir give the call to prayer or 'Azan'. Then bro Nasuh read the translation and explained the history of the calling to prayer. Then, bro. Ayman read part of the Quran, and one ayah which I like and is part of Dawud's song. Sis Mimi and Sis Sahar read the translation right after. Then all other speakers and some dance performances took place.

Kak Sah herself came with some stuff for the exhibition. I brought pictures and few other crafts that use to hang on my bedroom's wall. It is nice to see Muslims around the campus get together and enjoy the day despite participating in the event. The most memorable part for me was when Mimi presented her story, how she was when she came here and how she turned out to be and all... and she did mentioned some names, sisters who have helped her all the way... I was shocked when she did mentioned my name and pronounced it clearly in arabic, Khairulbariah or KIB she said... thanks mimi, I really really appreciate it... :-)

When it came to cleaning, yeah... everybody was already gone. Some went to class and some to work. I was still there with lotsa stuff and unfortunately forgotten about my shift in Memorial Library. I called in but nobody picked up and so I decided to just came in tomorrow and told Pat what happen. Thanks eina for bringing back some of the stuff... hehehe (she did asked me to mention her name here -- and so I already did! yeay!)

The thing that I cut and paste below is partly about sufism; how they valued Zikr which is a rememberance of the God. Is there any sufism in Malaysia? hmm.... what else? oh yeah... anis wanted me to introduce to her some guys from MSA group. I wish I could help but I didn't know them very well. Maybe you should get involved with them a lot to know them... 'Allahualam...

Can ease the pain of a boy
Caught in the rain
Only hope will remember
Burning flame in december

Only love
Only love

Only faith can bring to life
One who falls by the wayside
Only trust can inspire
Soggy lungs to breathe fire

Only love
Only love

It's only natural
The moon is just half full
We give our best away
We give our best away

Only love

Only trust can inspire
Soggy lungs to breathe fire

Only love
Only love

Only love
Only love...

How I miss you
If I only
Once could kiss you
I'd be happy
For one moment
Of my lifetime
I'd be there

And the water
Running Over
Me is growing
Ever colder

Make me happy
For one moment
Of my lifetime
I'd be there

Make me happy
For one moment
Of my lifetime
I'd be there

"I saw my Lord with the Eye of my heart,
And I said: Truly there is no doubt that it is You.
It is You that I see in everything;
And I do not see You through anything (but You).
You are the One Who owns all places.
And yet no place is You.
And if there were a place given by You for the place,
That place would know where You are.
And if there were an imagination for the imagining of You.
That imagination would know where You are.
I understand everything, and everything that I see
In my annihilation is You.
My Lord, bless me and forgive me,
For I seek no one but You."

~Husayn ibn Mansur al-Hallaj

The relationship between zikr and love

Remembering Allah with silent zikr and vocal zikr. To start with, Muslims begin with a name of God, such as "Allah" which is often called the "comprehensive" name (al-ism al-jami'). It is comprehensive in the sense that it comprises all of the infinite names of God, which refer to the source of the awareness of all of reality.

The word Zikr has many meanings. It means:

- Allah's Book and its recitation;
- Prayer;
- Learning and teaching

The author of Fiqh al-sunna said:

Sa'id ibn Jubayr said, "Anyone engaged in obeying Allah is in fact engaged in the remembrance of Allah." Some of the earlier scholars tied it to some more specified form. `Ata said, "The gatherings of zikr are the gatherings where the lawful and the prohibited things are discussed, for instance, selling, buying, prayers, fasting, marriage, divorce, and pilgrimage."

Qurtubi said, "Gatherings of zikr are the gatherings for knowledge and admonition, those in which the Word of Allah and the sunnah of His Messenger, accounts of our righteous predecessors, and sayings of the righteous scholars are learned and practised without any addition or innovation, and without any ulterior motives or greed."

- Invocation of Allah with the tongue according to one of the formulas taught by the Prophet or any other formula;
- Remembrance of Allah in the heart, or in both the heart and the tongue.

The Prophet praised a man who was awwah -- literally: one who says ah, ah! -- that is: loud in his zikr, even when others censured him. Ahmad narrated with a good chain in his Musnad (4:159) from `Uqba ibn `Amir: "The Prophet said of a man named Dhu al-bijadayn: innahu awwah, He is a man who says ah a lot. This is because he was a man abundant in his zikr of Allah in Qur'an-recitation, and he would raise his voice high when supplicating."

Allah said of the Prophet Ibrahim: "Verily, Ibrahim is awwah and halim" (9:114, 11:75), that is, according to Tafsir al-jalalayn: "Crying out and suffering much, out of fear and dread of his Lord." [halim = merciful, gentle.] The Prophet prayed to be awwah in the following invocation: rabbi ij`alni ilayka awwahan, "O Allah, make me one who often cries out ah to you." Narrated by Tirmidhi (book of da`awat #102, hasan sahih), Ibn Majah (Du`a' #2), and Ahmad (1:227) with a strong chain [Yahya ibn Sa`id al-Qattan < Sufyan al-Thawri < Shu`ba < `Amr ibn Murra < `Abd Allah ibn al-Harith < Taliq ibn Qays al-Hanafi < Ibn `Abbas] with the following wording:

The Prophet used to supplicate thus: "O my Lord! help me and do not cause me to face difficulty; grant me victory and do not grant anyone victory over me; devise for me and not against me; guide me and facilitate guidance for me; make me overcome whoever rebels against me; O my Lord! make me abundantly thankful to You (shakkaran laka), abundantly mindful of You (dhakkaran laka), abundantly devoted to You (rahhaban laka), perfectly obedient to You (mitwa`an ilayks), lowly and humble before You (mukhbitan laka), always crying out and turning back to You (awwahan muniban)!...."

hmm... alhamdulillah I am done preparing for tomorrow's event. I pasted some pictures on boards and make comments on them; mostly showing the everyday life of a Muslim in Malaysia. Should we called ourselves Malaysian Muslim, Muslim Malaysian, Malaysian or Muslim? hmm.. think before answering this! As for me, I have not yet decided my final answer but I use to say that I am a Malaysian which is true if you look in your pasport or IC.

Our tickets back to Malaysia were cancelled by MAS. Why? why? why?????? I wanna go back and see my sister giving birth (my mom said I can't go in the operation room ) and my family... hehehe...

hmm... Amir [refer to here: Wednesday, November 13, 2002] replied my email with intresting anology regarding Daniel Pipes's lecture last nite. Here it is..

Many of the people last night resembled in my mind the story of a person who
sticks his hand into a closed box full of bees, expecting, almost wanting to
get stung. But the bees did not sting. He sways his arm inside the box,
trying to bring the bees to attack, and yet they did not sting. Finally, a
tiny feather falls on his wrist, and he pulls out his arm quickly, holding
his arm in pain and yelling "see, the bees stung me".

I don't even think there were bees inside in the first place.

That is what I felt took place last night. Some of the people in the crowd
came with expectations and desires for Pipes to say something racist. But he
didn't. I didn't agree with much of what he said, but none of it was racist
or anti-Muslim. So instead some chose to attack him for things that they
have no proof he said and that are quoted from years ago, and to insult him,
doing exactly what they attacked Pipes for doing.

I left because I couldn't believe what was going on there. It was a circus,
and it was the most unjustified attack on freedom of speech that I have seen
here. The final straw for me was a question comparing Palestinian cities and
towns to concentration camps in Nazi Europe. I have a lot of sympathy for
Palestinians, and I hurt and bothered for their suffering, but there is not
even the slightest similarity that could justify the comparison. That remark
was an ignorant, stupid statement, it hurt me and others in the crowd, and
when I saw so many applauding her I decided to leave. There was no place for
me there.

I am sorry this email turned out so somber, but you asked, and the events of
last night shook some of my naivity about people. I promise the next email
will be much more cheerful :-)

It is pretty interesting as I was wandering with my own and only views instead of taking others and compare it with mine. He made his point clear and I do agree some part of it. Yeah, the MSA people were dissapointed because Pipes didn't say any word of hatred but presenting his views on issues. Still, I don't agree with his categorizing idea. Muslims are in 2 category? what is the bottom line separating each? who decide that? how they decide that?

I wish I knew a lot about Palestinians issue and some other issues. I wish I could give talk and express my views on certain issues as fluent as the other sisters. I am working on that. I don't feel shy writing or talking with lots of error but I do need support from friends, from people whom I put my trust in -- not just laugh when I make mistakes, but to correct me... if I was wrong...

The daily herald email attacked us again last nite. Stupidity never stop huh!? hey (whom it may concern)! stop doing what you are doing and find some other stuff to do, for example go STUDY!!!! or find a JOB or CHATT with friends. Your email is stupid, you who wrote the email is stupid and we who read it felt that you're stupid but VERY VERY GOOD in english I assumed...
